On June 15, the WNBA introduced plans for a shortened, 22-game common season at IMG Academy in Bradenton, FL. Since then, a rising checklist of WNBA gamers have determined to sit down out the 2020 marketing campaign.

Some gamers have cited well being issues surrounding the COVID-19. Others say they may use the time to combat police brutality and racial injustice in the US.
