Paul George: ‘I Just Hate the Narratives’ Around Carmelo Anthony

Paul George is no aficionado of the “stories” around Carmelo Anthony’s NBA return.

The LA Clippers star is content with Portland “drawing out” Anthony’s Hall of Fame vocation.

Kawhi Leonard included that he was discontent with how Melo was dealt with while being out of the League for over a year.

The 35- year-old was named the Western Conference Player of the Week, a respect he last won in March, 2014, while featuring for the New York Knicks.

Per ESPN:

“That is to say, it’s incredible,” George said of Anthony, who is averaging 17.7 focuses and 6.0 bounce back in six games since joining the Blazers after not playing since November 2018. “I simply despise how [his] first game, Melo returned, the entire media was [focused on] his in addition to short was this and him being on the floor, Portland produced this, and now he’s playing admirably and the media is [pointing out how] three games straight where he did this.”I simply detest the stories that is made by him being back,” George included about pundits centered Anthony’s style of play. “Melo has been an incredible player, he will be an extraordinary player, he’s playing stupendous from beginning to end, and whoop to Portland for opening that entryway back up for Melo and delaying his career.”Leonard said he is glad to see Anthony back and that it was unjustifiable the previous All-Star forward was unsigned for so long.”He can get a chance and get an opportunity to go out there and basically act naturally,” Leonard said. “I’m only cheerful for him that he had the option to get back in the NBA. It is merited. I don’t think he was dealt with the correct way, how they forgot about him there being a future Hall of Famer.”As you can see, he’s as yet running all over the floor, so he’s as yet got a ton of ball left in him. It will be a fun matchup for us.”
