Texas fires protective organizer Orlando
Texas terminated protective organizer/linebackers mentor Todd Orlando on Sunday. Likewise, the school calmed right hand mentors Drew Mehringer and Corby Meekins of their duties.Orlando, who spent the last three seasons with the Longhorns in the wake of serving in a similar job under mentor Tom Herman at Houston, is out two days after Texas completed the normal season at 7-5.Mehringer, who was the pass game facilitator and outside collectors mentor will never again be with the staff. Meekins, who was within recipients mentor, will never again fill in as an associate mentor yet will stay with the group in an authoritative capacity.Herman a week ago implied that staff changes were coming after Texas missed the mark regarding desires this season. The Longhorns’ barrier returned just a single starter in the front seven and battled for a significant part of the year, positioning 127th broadly in pass yards permitted, 105th in yards per play and tied for 74th in focuses allowed.Orlando in 2018 got one of the country’s most generously compensated facilitators, getting a raise to $1.8 million every year. He has been a protective organizer at five FBS programs: Connecticut, Florida International, Utah State, Houston and Texas.Former Rutgers mentor Chris Ash is required to be a possibility to supplant Orlando. Debris and Herman filled in as facilitators at Ohio State when the Buckeyes won the national title in 2014.
