Period of giving: An account of Anthony Kim’s liberality
We’re only hours into Thanksgiving week and we’ve just been blessed to receive a brilliant story of giving.
Not exclusively is the story endearing, yet it likewise involves the secretive Anthony Kim, who hasn’t played aggressively – or been seen much freely – since in eight years.
Conversing with Chris Como on the most recent scene of “Swing Expedition,” which show 7 p.m. Monday on Golf Channel, one of Kim’s previous swing mentors, Adam Schriber, reviewed a lunch that he and Kim went to at a California Pizza Kitchen in Palm Desert, California, in 2008, the same year that Kim won twice.
As Schriber tells it, their server was pregnant and Kim made a remark saluting her on her up and coming appearance.
“Your significant other must be so energized,” Kim stated, per Schriber.
Right then and there, the server separated in tears, sharing an account of how her sweetheart had quite recently left her and how she was terrified to have the infant.
“Wow, I didn’t see that coming,” Kim told Schriber.
A couple of months after the fact, Schriber and Kim were eating at a similar eatery when a similar server came heading out to welcome them, giving Kim an embrace and photograph of the child.
“They appeared as though they had known each other for 30 years,” Schriber said existing apart from everything else.
That is when Kim uncovered that he had left the server a sizable tip.
“I can’t recollect, it was either a $10,000 or $20,000 tip,” Schriber assessed. “To see him give back and get things done for others … that is what it’s about.”
