S.Y. Kim birdies $1.5 million putt to win biggest prize in ladies’ golf

NAPLES, Fla. —  Sei Young Kim hit an incredible putt, a 25- foot birdie on the last opening of the CME Group Tour Championship to win $1.5 million, the most extravagant prize throughout the entire existence of ladies’ golf.

S. Y. Kim sinks putt worth $1.5 million on conclusive opening to win in Naples

Kim shut with a 2-under 70 to beat a far-fetched enemy Sunday at Tiburon Golf Club.

Charley Hull of England birdied her last three openings for a 66, the last one a 12- footer that gave her tie for the lead. Kim, who glanced unstable in passing up on three straight birdie chances from 12 feet, pulled her way to deal with the highest point of a crown at the pack of the green.

The triumphant putt – the cash putt –  was hit with flawless pace and broke forcefully to one side as Kim siphoned her clench hands in dismay.
