J.Y. Ko clears LPGA’s significant season-long grants as world No. 1
NAPLES, Fla. – Jin Young Ko polished off her prevailing season.
She cleared the LPGA’s significant season-long grants with her completion Sunday at the CME Group Tour Championship.
Ko included the Vare Trophy and the LPGA cash winning title to the distinctions she had just secured. She joined Yani Tseng, Lorena Ochoa and Ariya Jutanugarn as the main players to win the Player of the Year Award, the Vare Trophy and the cash winning title while holding the Rolex world No. 1 positioning.

“I need to state this isn’t the end yet just the start,” Ko said at the Rolex LPGA Awards supper. “I will work much harder to improve as a golf player.”
Ko, whose four triumphs this season included two significant titles, shut with a 1-under 71 Sunday to complete the CME Group Tour Championship tied for 11th. She finished the year with a 69.062 scoring normal and with $2,773,894 in profit.
