Harmed Koepka out of Presidents Cup, supplanted by Fowler

Brooks Koepka has pulled back from one month from now’s Presidents Cup with damage and U.S. chief Tiger Woods named Rickie Fowler his substitution.

Koepka harmed his left knee during the CJ Cup a month ago and said in an announcement via web-based networking media that regardless of physical recovery he was “not ready to play golf at this time.”⠀

“Since my damage in Korea, I have been in consistent contact with Tiger and guaranteed him that I was bending over backward to be 100 percent in time for the Presidents Cup in Australia. Nonetheless, I need more opportunity to recuperate,” Koepka said in the announcement. “I’m sorry I won’t have the option to speak to the red, white, and blue this time around and I wish my colleagues only the best as they work to hold the Presidents Cup for the USA.”

Fowler completed 11th on the last Presidents Cup focuses list yet he hasn’t finished a competition since August. Fowler pulled back from a week ago’s Mayakoba Golf Classic with an intestinal bacterial contamination he contracted during his wedding in October.

Woods declared his four chief’s picks not long ago – Gary Woodland, Patrick Reed, Tony Finau and himself – and said not picking Fowler was his “hardest call.”

Fowler has a 4-3-1 record in two beginnings at the Presidents Cup.
