Fleetwood back in OWGR top 10 following Nedbank win
Tommy Fleetwood is back inside the top 10 of the Official World Golf Ranking following his first win in almost two years.
Fleetwood caught the European Tour’s Nedbank Golf Challenge in a one-opening season finisher over Marcus Kinhult for his first overall triumph since January 2018. The success moved Fleetwood up eight spots to No. 10 in the most recent rankings, thumping Bryson DeChambeau out of the top 10. It’s the first run through the Englishman has been positioned inside the top 10 since December. Kinhult’s next in line moved him into the top 100 just because at No. 91.
Brendon Todd’s second win in the same number of starts implied another bounce in the rankings, as the Mayakoba champ climbed 101 spots to No. 83 on the planet. Next in line Vaughn Taylor went from 131st to 106th, while T-2 completes lifted Adam Long and Carlos Ortiz to Nos. 110 and 141, individually.
Creeks Koepka remains No. 1 for one more week, trailed by Rory McIlroy, Dustin Johnson, Justin Thomas and Jon Rahm. Patrick Cantlay stays world No. 6, with Tiger Woods, Justin Rose, Xander Schauffele and Fleetwood balancing the most recent top 10.
